IGM rhythmic program was started in 1997 by Irina Kim. IGM is now the largest rhythmic gymnastics school in Minnesota and one of the leading schools in the United States. Our program offers classes for all ages and abilities including preschool classes, recreational rhythmic gymnastics classes, USA Gymnastics competitive levels 3 - 10, and adult fitness classes. All of our classes are taught by certified and experienced coaches including Natalyia Rogozhina-Perlman former head coach of the Kazakhstan national team. Our emphasis is on developing the full potential of grace, flexibility, strength, coordination, balance, and self confidence in every gymnast.
Rhythmic gymnastics has been an Olympic sport since 1984. It is performed by an individual gymnast or a group of 5 gymnasts (in the US there are also groups of 2, 3, 4, and 6). Rhythmic gymnastics consists of a balletic floor exercise which demonstrates leaps, turns, balance, flexibility, and artistry while manipulating handheld apparatus (rope, hoop ball, clubs, or ribbon).
